Mavin 12 inch Replacement for M&K Push Pull 16 Ohm Subs

Simple process to replace any of the standard M&K 12" Woofers, just undo the screws pop out the old woofer, disconnect the wires and do the reverse to complete the install.  It is time to get real, there was a very short time where the industry attempted to move from the Inch system to the metric system, it didn't work out and everyone went back to the Inch system of measure. What this means is that some of the M&K Subs could have a slightly undersized opening in the cabinet could be slightly undersized.  You have 2 options, first, do nothing and try and find a Mertic woofer to replace your damaged driver, or bite the bullet and do the minor modification to the cabinet. You will need to remove about 1/16 of an inch all around the speaker opening of the cabinet, but once done you can drop any current standard 12" woofer into the cabinet. Finally the M&K Cabinet is a sealed design, to help maintain that seal, I use Rubber Cement on the speaker driver recess to make and keep a good seal, Elmers Rubber Cement can be picked up at your local Walmart for a few bucks, it is easy to use and a breeze to clean up. Once dry just rub it off with your finger.

Don't need to mod your cabinet, great it only takes about 10 minutes and you're done, still better, that dud sounding M&K Sub will snap back to life like that of a New Sub.
